about Bri

I grew up on Bainbridge Island, WA and have lived in the PNW since birth. I’m 4th generation Seattleite from my Norwegian ancestors who settled here. I spend my home life on the Kitsap Peninsula with my love Peter, and our boys, Leo and Johnny. I love to spend my time with family, cooking, playing, laughing, taking nature walks, playing games, meditating, and creating art.

Many things led me to where I am today and as I’m sure is the case with most acupuncturists, people often ask what led me to study and practice this medicine. Choosing to pursue a degree in East Asian medicine and Acupuncture is one of the few things in my life that I can say I was guided to and didn’t once question. Without questioning the why’s or how’s, without turning to introspection and dissecting meticulously as I often do, and without stopping to think twice about this newfound passion that seemed to ignite from almost out of nowhere… I went for it.

It wasn’t until the first week of classes when our professors were asking what brought us here, that I reflected to myself, “it’s interesting I am pursuing this degree yet I haven’t had acupuncture before.” But that was a reflection, not a question whether I had made the right choice. That I never questioned, I just knew.

The moment I first touched an acupuncture point and felt and saw the energy radiating to and from the meridian system, something within me unlocked and the rest was history. From first glance my decision to walk the path of an acupuncturist seemed to come out of nowhere. But in reality this choice took my whole life to unravel.

As many can relate, I have not lived a life without enduring great pain, loss, difficult lessons, and unwanted memories. And for this I am so grateful! Because if it weren’t for the hardships, I wouldn’t be where I am today: Practicing a medicine which brings me joy each and every day.

When I walk into my treatment space my heart opens and my spirit is at ease. I am doing what I love. The education I received from Bastyr University is timeless, and the knowledge I received there is the basis of all of my treatments. Radiating off of that I always treat intuitively. I tune in and listen to what you need and treat accordingly. The body speaks and I listen! If you find yourself on the treatment table you are ready to heal, the needles are inserted as needed, and your body balances itself in incredible, almost unfathomable ways. If I haven’t already, I hope to have the pleasure of treating you one day.
